چکیده

Most of the standing structures today have already deteriorated or are on verge deterioration due to an increase in their age and harsh environmental conditions. For this very reason, need being upgraded replaced. Retrofitting using near-surface mounted (NSM) fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) rods has now emerged as a promising technique for strengthening reinforced concrete members by increasing flexural strength. This study aims numerically investigate efficiency NSM RC beams finite element (FE) software, ABAQUS, also evaluate impact variables such strength, embedded length FRP rods, filler material used number provided. Validation model was confirmed first making comparison with experimental presented literature un-strengthened beam. Thereafter, validated simulate strengthened technique. The numerical results cracking moment, steel yielding ultimate bending deflection at failure were reported evaluated. FE analysis indicated that capacity significantly increased compared control beam, while mid-span deflections decreased

Flexural Strengthening of Deficient Reinforced Concrete Beams with Post-Tensioned Carbon Composites using Finite Element Modelling

The application of external post-tensioned steel bars as an effective way to strengthen an existing bridge has been so far used in many different countries. In recent decades, however, they have been replaced by bars made from Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), as a material with high tensile strength and corrosion resistance, to address several concerns with steel bars such as their appli...

Shear strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with CFRP

The current paper reviews existing design guidelines for strengthening beams in shear with carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets and proposes a modification to Concrete Society Technical Report TR55. It goes on to present the results of an experimental programme which evaluated the contribution of CFRP sheets towards the shear strength of continuous reinforced concrete (RC) beams. A tot...

Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced RC Bracket Using CFRP Plates

CFRP composites have unique application qualities such as high resistance and durability to environmental conditions, having relatively low weight and easy to install in strengthening concrete structure elements. The brackets should be strengthen sufficiently if they are not calculated and implemented well. Application of the CFRP is one of the methods for such purposes. The study involves usin...

Flexural Testing of High Strength Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with CFRP Sheets

The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of externally bonded CFRP sheets to increase the flexural strength of reinforced high strength concrete (HSC) beams. Four-point bending flexural tests to complete failure on six concrete beams, strengthened with different layouts of CFRP sheets were conducted. Three-dimensional nonlinear finite element (FE) models were adopted by A...
